Chop Top

This is pobably the simplest tutorial to follow, but also an important one for learning the fundamentals. Use these techniques for modifying front ends, or shortening up side mirrors.

Step 1: Use the Polygonal Lasso tool to outline the top portion of the car with background and all.

Step 2: Go: Cntrl + C > Cntrl + V (copy, paste) to add the selection as a new layer.

Step 3: Now hit Cntrl + T (transform). Take the top center adjustment tab and move it downwards to your desired chopped height. You may have to make small adjustments with width and rotation to get the best alignment to your car. Once you're satisfied, push Return to apply the transformation.

Step 4: Use the Crop tool (if neccessary) to get rid of the excess background left at the top when you shrank the new layer.
